Fancy Places to Stay in Austin

Whether you’re looking for a homely hotel experience or a self-catering stay, Austin, Texas, has plenty of accommodations ranging from classy B&Bs and guesthouses to airstream trailers. On your visit to Austin, consider staying in any of these quirky accommodations to get a taste of the city’s booming hotel scene.

The Adams House

Located in Central Hyde Park, The Adams House is ideal for all those who are seeking some time out from the bustling city life. Built in 1911, The Adams House, owned by Mr. and Mrs. Adams, was later purchased by Sidney Lock, who converted the property into a bed and breakfast. The property boasts quaint rooms outfitted with queen-size beds, chaise lounges, and walnut antique chest drawers. Guests can socialize in the common room that features chairs, sofas, and TVs with a cable connection. As one of the top guesthouses in Austin, The Adams House is centrally located, within an easy reach to a plethora of restaurants, grocery stores, cafes, and public transportation.

There is plenty to see and do within the vicinity – Elizabeth Ney Museum and Shipe Park are just a few blocks away.

Kimber Modern Hotel

With stylish architecture, Kimber Modern Hotel is located in the vibrant Soco district. Since this boutique hotel has only five rooms, guests can unquestionably feel at home with the services of a hotel. The property has put on an impeccable attention to detail – from Margo Sawyer’s metal boxes to Arne Jacobs egg chairs in the common room, making it a perfect spot for art wanderers. The kitchen area offers a self-service coffee system. The hotel’s exteriors and interiors exude an artistic flair along with features that are energy-efficient. Guests can choose from a variety of accommodations, including the White Suite and Red Suite equipped with refrigerators, flat-screen TVs, and ironing boards.

Heywood Hotel

A stay at the Heywood Hotel is for all those guests who’d like a service just as easygoing as their vacation. Its prime location on the east side calls for an evening full of music and art, especially if you’re in town during the East Austin Studio Tour. The rooms are carefully decorated in a contemporary style, adorned with locally made furniture, original pine hardwood flooring and hanging artwork produced by local artists.

Gateway Guesthouse

Though all hotels in Austin offer great hospitality, staying at a lovely B&B is an experience by itself. Each room’s décor at the Gateway Guesthouse is unique. The Loft features a deck in the garden, the Studio has a private entry and a deck that overlooks the pool, and the Master Retreat has a deck with a downtown view. If you want a space of your own with complete privacy, book the Carriage House, a one-bedroom apartment with a private laundry and a kitchen area.

With fabulous off-beat accommodations located within easy reach to Austin’s downtown, guests will find no trouble in staying occupied in a city that has a soft spot for all kinds of activities.
